Hi, I’m
Sarah Lewis, pastor of Piedmont
Presbyterian. I’ve been
Piedmont's pastor since 2002, and every day
I’m thankful for being able to
serve a church where folks truly
care about their neighbors and
their community. One of my
deepest desires is to help
people grow in their
relationship with God and with
each other.
Church is about people, and the
grace and hospitality God gives
us to share with others. I hope YOU will stop in for
some
conversation. I look forward to
meeting you. You can generally
find me at Piedmont Sunday
mornings, and during my office
hours or play park when it's in
season.
My husband Charles and I
live in the Cully neighborhood
with our daughter, Coakley, born
this June, and our yellow lab, Popcorn. I love being
outdoors: camping, swimming,
hiking, walking, running,
gardening are all choice activities…I'm
also a bookworm and enjoy
cooking, though I have to admit
my relaxed approach to following
recipes sometimes turns in
interesting results.
Before
Piedmont, I served as temporary
pastor at Trinity Presbyterian
in Stockton, California, and
completed my M. Div. at
Princeton Theological Seminary
in New Jersey.
One of my favorite Bible verses is Psalm 27:1
The
Lord is
my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord
is the stronghold
of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
I’ve said this to myself ever
since 5th grade to remind myself I can trust
in the Lord completely.
